Beach Rules


  • Birchwood Lakes Colony Club beach is a private, members-only swimming beach
  • Members and guest tags are required
  • Do not enter the water if you are experiencing or recovering from diarrhea or have had any signs or symptoms of a gastrointestinal (stomach) disease in the past seven days
  • All children in diapers must wear diapers specially designed for immersion in water (such as swimming diapers)
  • Do not wash out soiled diapers in the bathing water
  • Children should be encouraged to use the restroom before entering the water. Immediately report any “accidents” you observe in the bathing area to a lifeguard
  • No animals except for service animals shall be allowing in the swimming area or other parts of the enclosure
  • Glass containers are prohibited anywhere on the beach
  • Conduct which endangers the safety and comfort of others shall be prohibited
  • Outdoor bathing shall be prohibited during an electrical storm
  • Persons suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol shall be prohibited from entering the water
  • No boats of any kind allowed in the swimming area
  • No fishing off the dock or in the swimming area
  • Persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Swim at your own risk
  • No diving off the dock due to shallow water
  • No rowdiness, roughness, vulgar language or conduct affecting the safety or comfort of others
  • Failure to follow the rules may result in being asked to leave the beach and common areas
